Please tell me, what's wrong with the world? Why so much hate and discontent? Why so much envy and enmity? Why so much farce, lies, dishonesty, blood spilling and general gloom? To certain degree in every nation there's the workplace political drama plus the I-must-be-the-boss sometimes diabolical saga, family/marital issues - divorce right, left & center! Suicides. Rituals. Boy/Girl killing lover out of jealousy or whatever else. Bombings. Trigger-happy police officers. Kidnappings. Inhumane treatment of others...and trust me the list is endless! What is wrong with the world? Some days ago I read about a father molesting his 3-month old daughter. A friend was also sharing with me how his neighbor abandoned wife with kids because according to him his wife had become the 'boss' of the home. Saturday was the remembrance of a member of our Church who was shot and murdered in cold blood because she attained certain management position at work. I read about the ISIS-linked bombings, Boko Haram fighters on the home-front. Seriously, what is wrong with our world?

In my lifetime I have seen such great progress. Though racial based hate is still very much alive as last night so violently reminded us.
But I worry about a new hate that is growing in our great nation. I fear our intolerance of one another is the new battle ground of evil. Today many feel it is ok to hate someone who thinks differently than you do.
The left hates the right. The right hates the left. This attitude is poison. Poison that will sicken all of us.
Just because someone is for Obamacare and another is against doesn't change the fact we are all brothers and sisters. All Americans.
As a brain surgeon I can assure you that all of our brains look the same, no matter what our skin color or party affiliation.
The America I know and love has fought evil all over the world to protect evil's victims. At home we must dedicate ourselves to not hating anyone based on their politics.
Our leaders have walked our country down this path and it is up to us to change course.

What will it take to conquer hatred and this evil lurking in the hearts of people? Can we as individuals begin the purging ourselves? There is no point hating on another human being.
- Start first with not overestimating the blessings of others to the detriment of yours. It is only when you underestimate your blessings/talents/gifts that you begin to feel jealousy for others which of course can result in maiming another.
- Learn to respect others' views. So granted, you don't like some or even all of their views? Let them be!!! It is their opinion not yours. It doesn't remove or add a cubit to you.
-Treat others the way you want to be treated. Isn't that the greatest Bible commandment?
Truly I hope for world peace.
Certainly, we live in evil times! Pilots deliberating crashing flights, mothers deliberately driving their cars into the river with their children inside, students opening fire on their classmates, family members arranging for the kidnapping of relations just to get paid ransom, our generation has redefined evil. I suspect, we will make Sodom and Gomorrah look righteous!
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of sounding like a prophet of doom, I do not think these evils will cease. Looks like we would just try to stay safe and watch out for the return of Jesus,where He would fix it all for us.
It is indeed trying times for innocent souls all over the world. How cowardly can one be, to walk into a church and kill innocent people. The greatest enemy is ourselves, as the world will not become extinct due to global warming -but due to man's intolerance towards man.

ReplyDeleteI think we have not seen anything yet, a 65 year old man transformed into a woman is just a tip of the iceberg, I am not passing judgment on the LGBT community though, it's just to show the depth humans can go these days.
I thought about the Charleston killings, the evil young goat did not just walked into the church and killed those people, he sat with them for an hour, meaning he heard them preach God's word and even pray but this thick filthy evil skin was not penetrated to sink into his heart and change his devious mind about his initial plan. I could imagine his thoughts of okay "let me shoot the men first and finish up with the women", or " this n****s will soon be dead". He was welcomed into the church and probably got a couple of smiles and nods from the people he killed .. such evil...*sighs*
just as blogoratti said "it is indeed a trying times for innocent souls all over the world and the greatest enemy is ourselves"..the charleston shooter even had no remorse after what he did.i keep asking myself,where has love for your neighbour gone too?but i always take heart in what i read from my bible..these days re critical time hard to deal with(1 timothy 3:1-5)
ReplyDeleteI have asked myself over and over why a 21 year old would decide to do something so gruesome in a place where people find solace, peace, freedom and happiness...Everything is wrong with the world. Our value system has changed, philosophy has changed and people seem too "liberated". The type of liberation where people feel they can express negative emotions and not feel remorse...A lot of people are angry with the world,they are not even at peace with themselves, they cant find happiness in the daily pleasures of life...Can we blame them?Maybe, maybe not...
ReplyDeleteLast night, I was watching a movie, 'Son of God'- it's a story about Jesus, of course. And at the point when Judas and Joseph betrayed and denied Jesus respectively, my wife felt bad and -almost- wished the betrayal and denial had not come that way. She wished none of the disciples would have a hand in facilitating the death of Christ... but I felt otherwise. Why? Once Jesus has PROPHESIED a thing I don't think there is anything we can do about it....
ReplyDeleteAmongst others, I felt bad hearing the news of the recent hate crime in the USA. How such innocent looking boy would murder those Christians in the church... in cold blood. As sad as it was... well I just felt it was another prophesy being full-filled; following the persecutions and all what not Christ had said we Christians would go through... especially in a time like this that is referred to as the 'end time'.
We should pray and believe that we would not be counted among the unfortunate ones that have gone through life's misfortunes, hatred, genocide, and whatever incest you have mentioned here. Our world today has been molested, raped, spat on, beaten up, poisoned and....

ReplyDeleteHe wanted to start a race war but his evil has been conquered in love. His identity reflects racism. All his evil deeds at the church (Emanuel AME) in Charleston during the bible study was premeditated. He said they showed him so much love during the bible study that he almost had a change of mind but he purposed in his mind he had to do it. I feel I have a personal connection with incident because I was at this same church few months back, where I was part of the bridal train for a friend's wedding. Also, I reside about 1.5 hours away from the church, and Charleston is a city that attracts a lot of tourist partly because of the slave trade archives. However, the only survivor of the shooting was left purposely by him because he said he wanted her to tell the story to the whole world. The 21 year old "suspect" killed 9 people including 3 pastors, using a gun yet to be determined whether it's the one the father presented to him as a gift on his 21st birthday. Now, that is insane...a gun as a gift! America has a very big issue with gun control. The number of guns in America is thrice the population. You can't even discuss the possibility of reviewing the 1st amendment (about their freedom) and 2nd amendment (includes their right to possess a gun) with them unless you want them to go mad at you. This act of racial terrorism shouldn't have come to realization assuming stricter gun control law is in place. They argue it's for self-defense but stats have shown otherwise. But if we all have similar brains Lola, then how come we think Differently?! we think with our minds one might say.. But where is our mind located then?! in our Heart or Brain?! DeleteTrue the brain is the ultimate seat of consciousness where all the 'gengen' things happen but it only functions based on the information that other senses feed it. So basically it processes a lifelong information of whatever we have seen(watched, read) and heard. Our brain is the same but the experiences/exposure for individuals is different so you can't expect that we will act in the same way. Am I unrealistic to wish for world peace? I don't know even though it's clear the end days are upon us. May we not be perpetrators of evil (Amen)
