Live. Love. Care. Share...

Yesterday we buried a dear friend and sister

Today she would have been 32...

Last year I wrote and posted (this) on my blog about her

Wednesday 27/05 we hooked up to see someone; we had our usual chitchat albeit briefly. She dropped me off so I could make my way back to the office. We high-fived as our consciousness of LASTMA officials wouldn't let us linger at the bus stop(pedestrian bridge at Town planning) for hugs for long...
Friday 29/05 her soul and spirit left her body to be with the Lord

I haven't had strength to pray but a few songs have been on replay...my earbuds stuck in my ear. I hope the lyrics of these songs minister to someone else(no matter the challenges/mystery/confusion/dark cloud surrounding you right now). Even as we grieve, we take solace in the truth that our sweet Mayokun lived. She loved God truly. She loved all, genuinely like Christ did. I still wonder where all the strength came from for her. She cared and shared with people beyond her immediate and extended family. For me, this is some revival of some sort as my mind ruminates over her words written on her Facebook page, "Be heard, be felt, be remembered for good".

We heard your wisdom words pretty. So much I learned from you that can never be quantified. We felt your love, I sure did and thank God today you are remembered for good as you will always be. Sleep well my darling till we meet at Jesus' feet.

COMFORTER - CECE WINANS

Faithful Friend and Father, I've called You through the years

You've been Great Physician when sickness lingered near

Through distressing moments Your name is new and sweet

You've become Comforter to me

You are Comforter, that's who You are to me

Comforter, a name that fits so perfectly

Peace that passes all understanding

Comforter is who You are to me, it's who You are to me

And to the grieving family who weeps for loved ones gone

The pain of separation consumes another home

But on the waves of sorrow, You walk with perfect ease

Comforter is who the whole world needs

You are Comforter, that's who You are to me

Comforter, a name that fits so perfectly

Peace that passes all understanding

Comforter is who You are to me

Peace Giver, Life Changer

Joy River, Peace Giver

Way Maker, Life Changer

Peace Giver, Joy River

Comforter, that's who You are to me

Comforter, a name that fits so perfectly

Peace that passes all understanding

Comforter is who You are to me

Comforter is who You are to me

Peace Giver, Life Changer

Joy River, Peace Giver

Way Maker, Life Changer

Peace Giver, Joy River

Peace Giver, Life Changer

Joy River, Peace Giver

Way Maker, Life Changer

Peace Giver, Joy River

BE ENCOURAGED - FRED HAMMOND(there are other versions)

Be encouraged no matter what's going on,

He'll make it alright,

but you gotta stay strong.

Be encouraged no matter what's going on,

He'll make it all right,

but you gotta stay strong.

I know right now it's impossible to see,

but God is gonna work it out if you just believe.

Remember this one thing while you're going through,

if God delivered Daniel, He'll do the same for you.

Verse 2:

Hold on, trouble don't last always,

these trials are just a test, just a test of your faith.

So stand strong and dry your weeping eyes,

‘cause joy comes in the morning,

and everything is gonna be alright.

Chorus

Vamp:

Be encouraged,

be encouraged,

but you gotta stay strong.

Ending: Be encouraged.

ALREADY THERE - CASTING CROWN From where I'm standing

Lord it's so hard for me to see

Where this is going

And where You're leading me

I wish I knew how

All my fears and all my questions

Are gonna play out

In a world I can't control

Oh, oh

When I'm lost in the mystery

To You my future is a memory

Cause You're already there

You're already there

Standing at the end of my life

Waiting on the other side

And You're already there

You're already there

Oh, oh, oh, oh

From where You're standing

Lord, You see a grand design

That You imagined

When You breathed me into life

And all the chaos

Comes together in Your hands

Like a masterpiece

Of Your picture perfect plan

When I'm lost in the mystery

To You my future is a memory

Cause You're already there

You're already there

Standing at the end of my life

Waiting on the other side

And You're already there

You're already there

One day I'll stand before You

And look back on the life I've lived

I can't wait to enjoy the view

And see how all the pieces fit [x2]

One day I'll stand before You

And look back on the life I've lived

Cause You're already there

You're already there

When I'm lost in the mystery

To You my future is a memory

Cause You're already there

You're already there

Standing at the end of my life

Waiting on the other side

And You're already there

You're already there
You are already there

  4. Shame on death! The following verse of a hymn with the same title is our hope my friend.

'Jesus is coming! The dead shall arise,
Loved ones shall meet in a joyful surprise,
Caught up together to Him in the skies
    Jesus is coming again!'

  7. Hmmmmmm...Christy Mayokun Seye-Olowoyo!!! A rare gem, I must say.
I like this piece and I know that as we heal, God will grant us the courage to emulate her and stand for the good things she stood for.

  9. God rest her soul...

"Though I walk through valleys low
    I'll fear no evil
By the waters still my soul,
My heart will trust in You.

O You counsel me and You comfort me
    When I cannot see,
    You light my path
My heart will trust in you"- Hillsong.

  10. Wow!!! **Deep sigh... I dunno why life is how it is Lola.. We come on here.. Meet very ghen ghen people.. Fall in love with them.. Hug some.. Kiss some.. make out and make love with some.. But at the end.. No matter how much bond we both have with each other.. We have to Die to live.. I mean its sad.. You know ehn Baby mi.. sometimes yeah, stuff like this makes me question the very essence of life.. Why are we here?! Where are we?! are we sleeping and is Death some form of AWAKENING?! i dunno.. I can't tell.. I am too confused to understand... But the truth is some day yeah Baby mi. I will leave You Lola, and you will leave me too.. But while we are here.. In each others life... Lets live.. Love and leave a legacy.. Lets do what the amazing Mayokun adviced Lori faceBook... ( I refuse to add RIP to her name, cause she is living not dead.. living in you, and in the hearts of all those who love her)... Like the ghen ghen Mayokun said... "Be heard, be felt, be remembered for good". Dasall..... Chin up Soldier.. she wouldnt want you gloomy.. Trust me.. I dont think they ever want us that way... It is well.
